Triggering the Agile Cards printing command in Jira (Agile Cards > Submit) directs you to the Print and template configuration screen.

Not sure where you can print from?

Refer to the Print issue cards page to explore all the places in Jira where you can print your work items.

Step 1: Configure your card templates

Before printing your cards, it’s a good idea to customize their appearance to suit your team’s needs.

  • Who can configure templates?
Only Jira Admins and Project Admins can add, remove, or edit Agile Cards templates.
Regular users can only print cards using existing templates.

  • Why use templates?
Templates allow you to save different configurations, such as card layout, fields, colors, and styles for future use. Agile Cards includes some ready-made templates you can start with or customize.

Step 2: Use the Template settings screen

Template settings are integrated into the printing flow, so you can fine-tune the card’s appearance without leaving the printing screen. Some example templates are also ready for you to start with or to clone and modify.

Here’s what you can do:

  • Create and save multiple templates.

  • Use search in the sidebar to find templates by name (supports contains logic).

  • View project-specific templates associated with the issues you have selected to print and/or save to PDF under Project Templates.

No project templates listed?

That means no templates have been assigned to the project your selected issues belong to. In this case, check the Other Templates section. To assign a template to a project, refer to the Assigned projects section of the Template settings page.

Step 3: Select a template before printing

Selecting a template is required before printing. To learn more about customizing your printouts, explore the following pages:
