Get started
Agile Cards for Jira bridges the gap between digital and physical task management by transforming your Jira issues into tangible cards. It lets you:
Print high-quality cards from Jira issues for physical boards.
Customize card layouts with the information your team needs.
Synchronize physical board changes back to Jira with a simple photo.
Follow the steps outlined below to get started.
Step 1: Create your first template
Before printing your first cards, you'll need to set up a template that determines what information appears on your physical cards. Once you have your template ready, you can start printing Jira issues as cards.
Tip: Create different templates for different teams or purposes (for example, Sprint Planning
and Daily Standup
cards).
Step 2: Print your cards
Now that your template is ready, you can print Jira issues as physical cards. You can print from:
Active sprints: Print all issues from a sprint column.
Issue view: Print a single issue.
Kanban boards and backlogs: Print selected or all issues.
Search results: Print multiple issues from a JQL search.
To print, click Print issues from any Jira view and select the template you want.
Refer to Configure print and template screens to learn more.
Best practices
Include only the most critical information on cards.
Use color coding to enhance visual scanning.
Create multiple templates as different meetings can require different card designs.
Establish a routine for synchronizing physical changes back to Jira.
Get feedback on card designs from your team to ensure they work for everyone.
You can now use your physical board.
Step 3: Set up your physical board
For optimal results with physical cards:
Organize your physical board to match your Jira workflow columns.
If you plan to use the synchronization feature:
Print and place KR-coded splitters mentioned in Step 4 on your board to define columns.
Ensure your issue cards have KR codes enabled when printing.
Step 4: Synchronize physical changes to Jira
With Agile Cards Scanner, you can update your Jira board using a simple photo of your physical board. This keeps your digital and physical boards in sync.
Refer to Synchronize physical and digital boards to learn more.
