Create a task
Overview
In taskable workflow states, you can add your own workflow tasks using the Tasks dialog box.
Open the Tasks dialog box
Click the Tasks link in the workflow status bar to open the tasks dialog box:
If the Tasks byline link is not visible, you can open the tasks dialog box using the Page Tools Menu > Add Task (this is when the workflow state is configured as taskable, which then allows the addition of workflow tasks when in that workflow state).
Click the New Task text and enter the name of the task.
Name the task
Type in the task name – this should be a concise statement about what needs to be done.
Assign the task
You can @mention one user, just like you can in a Confluence task; the user is added as the task assignee.
Task description
If you want to add additional information
Press Shift + Enter to start a new line, and then you can add a description
Adding the task
Pressing Enter adds the task.
The number of pending tasks is added to the tasks byline. If the current user is assigned a task, a blue dot is appended to the byline and to the assigned task in the tasks dialog box.
Mouse over a task to display options to edit the task details, including task expiration, task assignment, or deletion.
The checkbox is used to set the task as complete. Only one user needs to mark a task as complete. By default, assigning a task does not exclude any other user from completing the task.
Notifications and reporting
Depending on the App configuration (see below), a user assigned to the task, or watching the page, receives notifications to let them know of the changes.
Details of the changes are stored in the Activity Report - Content.
