Workflow panel
Overview
The workflow panel in the workflow builder displays the workflow name, description, state names, and workflow components present in the workflow, including workflow parameters, read confirmation, and page layout.
The workflow icon is appended with an icon to indicate the type of workflow being edited (global, space, or page).
Workflow state names are displayed with a colored state indicator circle. These can include an icon to indicate that the state is final, includes an approval, or is configured to let users add workflow tasks. States can be dragged and dropped to change their position in the workflow.
The workflow panel lets you open options to add new workflow components or edit existing workflow components.
Add or edit the workflow components
You can add and edit each component of the workflow by choosing its name, or, in some cases, such as Parameters and States, the add option.
These open a contextual editor for the component:
You can choose
The workflow name to edit the workflow name and description. You can also add workflow triggers, workflow content label filter, and sticky labels
Page Layout to add and edit workflow added page headers, footers, and workflow instructions, with options for their visibility based on Confluence user permission
Parameters to add or edit workflow parameters defined by the workflow. These can be defined to use different types of data (user, group, duration, string, or list) and set with default values
Rules are displayed if the workflow includes a workflow trigger. Choosing Rules displays a summary of the workflow trigger. A trigger is added as markup when editing the workflow
Read Confirmations to make read confirmations active and configure them for the workflow. You can add predefined readers, set a due date, and let a reviewer decide on a final approval if readers should be assigned
A state name to edit the workflow state name, color, and description. You can also add and edit state transitions, approvals, expiry due date, and let users add workflow tasks whilst in the workflow state
Add State to add a new state to the workflow
