Set up the Advanced Table Viewer [Beta] macro features

The Advanced Table Viewer macro setup mode enables you to set the initial feature configurations for using the macro. The macro setup mode is a full screen view to provide data visibility and a smoother configuration experience of data source and table display options.

The macro provides various features that you can set up and access in both Confluence page view and edit mode.

  • The beta release offers a simplified version of the column filtering, row styling, search, row numbering, sort, download, and sum-up features.

  • You can enable these features in setup mode to use in Confluence page view and edit mode.

  • When you add a new macro, the search and sort features are enabled by default.

  • The features configured in macro setup mode are saved as the default for every refresh of the Confluence page.

Macro setup mode

To configure the features, navigate to the macro’s setup mode. Only users with edit permissions can access the setup mode.

  1. Open the Confluence page containing the Advanced Table Viewer macro.

  2. Edit the Confluence page.

  3. Edit the Advanced Table Viewer macro to navigate to the setup mode.

  • When you insert and configure the Advanced Table viewer macro, you’ll move to the setup mode before saving the macro.

The macro setup mode opens in full screen view.

  • The left panel displays a preview of the data imported from the data source.

  • The right panel displays the available feature configurations.

  1. To enable or disable any of the features, click the specific feature icon.

    The feature configurations are available at the table and column level.

  • Table properties

    • The right panel displays the available feature configuration at the table level.

    • The table properties apply to the entire table, affecting all columns and rows within a single macro.

    • The beta release offers a simplified version of row styling, search, row numbering, sort, and download features at the table level.

  • Column properties

    • The column features apply specifically to the configured table columns.

    • The beta release offers a simplified version of the column-level feature, Rename heading, and Sum-up type (SUM and AVG).

To edit the Data Source in the setup mode, click Edit Data Source on the right panel. The Data Source dialog opens. For more information, refer to Configure Advanced Table Viewer [Beta] macro - cloud.

The Advanced Table Viewer macro table and column properties are listed below.

Table properties

In the right panel, you can enable or disable the macro table features.

  • Column filtering: Enable Column filtering to configure column filters for individual columns and filter table data based on specific column values. For more information, refer to Column filtering with Advanced Table Viewer [Beta] macro - cloud.

  • Search: The search feature is enabled by default. It allows to perform a dynamic search on the table data. For more information, refer to Search with Advanced Table Viewer [Beta] macro - cloud.

  • Row numbering: Enable the row-numbering option to display a column with row numbers and Save the macro.

  • Sort: The Sort option is enabled by default. It allows the sorting of the column values. For more information, refer to Sorting with Advanced Table Viewer [Beta] macro - cloud.

  • Download

    • Enable the download option and Save the macro to allow the download of the current table data as a CSV file.

    • When enabled, the download button is displayed at the top right of the table on the Confluence view and edit page mode. Click Downloadimage-20250221-073933.png, and the file is downloaded to your local file system.

  • Row Styling: Apply row colors and highlight table rows using the row styling option.

    • Row styling includes two features: Row coloring and Row highlighting. For more information about how to apply row styles, refer to Row styling with Advanced Table Viewer [Beta] macro - cloud.

Column properties

The Advanced Table Viewer BETA macro offers column-level features, Rename heading, and Sum-up type. To set up the column properties, click the Edit column option (ellipsis.jpg ).

  • Sum-up: Automatically calculate and display the sum (Sum) or average (Avg) for columns containing numeric data. For more information on how to set up the sum-up type, refer to Summarize numeric column values with Advanced Table Viewer macro [Beta] - cloud.
