Configure Advanced Table Viewer [Beta] macro - cloud

This page details how to connect to the Data source and configure the Advanced Table Viewer macro.

  1. Insert the macro in a Confluence page either from the macro browser or using the macro shortcut (/).

  2. This navigates you to the initial set up screen. To begin, click Connect Data Source.

  1. The Data Source dialog opens.

  • To configure the data source, select a data connector from the Select your data connector list. By default, CSV is selected.

  • For the CSV data connector, you can either add or paste the CSV code or choose a predefined profile. By default, Insert CSV is selected.

    • To insert CSV code, refer to Insert CSV.

    • To select a predefined profile, refer to Profiles.

  • The Advanced Table Viewer BETA release currently supports importing data only from the CSV data connector.

Add or paste the CSV code in the Add your CSV box and click Save.

If the CSV code contains errors, then an error message is displayed. To learn about CSV file formats, refer to The comma-separated value (CSV) File Format.

  • Once you save the macro, the CSV code is converted to the table format, and the column names and values appear in the left panel of the setup mode. Click Save to import the data.

Profiles

  • Once you select Profiles, the Select a Profile dropdown displays the list of available profiles.

  • Select the profile from which you want to import the data as a Confluence table.

If data cannot be retrieved from the selected profile, an error message displays.

  1. The Select Columns displays the list of column names to output in the table. Click Save to import the data.

  • You can select, remove, and order the column names as needed. The selected order of the column names is displayed in the confluence table.

    • To clear all the selected column names, click Clear All ( image-20241204-071410.png ).

    • To remove any specific column name from the list, next to the column name, click image-20241204-070307.png.

    • After clearing selections, click the box and select the column names again in the required order.

  • Once you save the macro, the table with the selected column names and values appears in the left panel of the setup mode. Click Save to import the data.

  1. The table with the selected column names and values appears on the Confluence page edit mode.

  1. Publish the page, and you can view the table in the page view mode.
