Edit tasks

Edit tasks

Overview

When a state is selected in the workflow panel or the (navigator panel), the transitions, state parameters, approvals, and tasks are listed in the state editor (as applicable to the state).

You can use the tasks editor to add and edit workflow tasks.

The workflow adds these tasks when it transitions into the state.

By making the state taskable in the state editor, you can also allow a user to manually add workflow tasks when in a state.

Edit tasks in a state

When a state is displayed in the workflow panel

  • Choose Tasks to add, edit, or remove for the chosen state

Any existing tasks in the state are displayed.

Either choose a named task to open the Edit Tasks panel for the task, or to add a new task to the state, choose +Add Task.

  • Add users to the Assignee box to automatically assign one or more users when the task is added

  • Use Due Date to set an expiry date for the completion of the task:

    • Fixed Date

    • Period in years, months, days, minutes

    • ISO 8601 format duration, such as P5M7D

    • Value reference, for example, a workflow parameter duration type

The task is added on each transition into the state. This can create duplicate tasks, as the tasks are persistent by default if they are not deleted or completed.

To update the task settings, choose Apply.

To avoid losing the update, you must then add the changes to the workflow by choosing Save in the navigation panel.

A state content transition can be configured in the transitions editor to occur when all tasks in a state are completed.
