Release notes - 3.1
Release date: Jul 14, 2025
We’re thrilled to announce the latest release of Dataplane Reports, version 3.1.
This release includes improved Jira dashboard performance, and improved performance on MySQL instances.
New features
Improved Jira dashboard performance
Jira dashboards with Dataplane Reports gadgets now load more quickly and use fewer concurrent system resources by running reports only as gadgets are scrolled into view. This optimization is enabled by default, but can be individually enabled or disabled for each dashboard from the Edit Dataplane Reports Properties dashboard menu option.
Enhancements
Improved performance on MySQL instances
Improved performance on large MySQL instances by changing all app tables using the MEMORY storage engine to InnoDB. This reduces table-level locking delays, and occurrences of error “Got SQL exception transforming JQL: The table 'arthash' is full”. To apply this change, you must do a full rebuild of the Dataplane Index on the Dataplane Reports > Administration > Configuration page; select the Indexer tab, and click on Remove Index, and then Build Index.
Improved performance on MySQL instances by prefacing report queries with SQL “ANALYZE”. For other database types, this optimization was already enabled in prior releases.
Additional enhancements
Improved report performance for certain types of reports by optimizing their database query structure.
Incorporated Pendo to enable future in-app guides and user feedback.
Fixes
Fixed issue preventing users from enabling Dataplane Reports' dashboard gadget results cache when on Jira 10. Accessing the Dataplane Reports Dashboard Properties page from the dashboard menu was blocked with error "Received HTTP error 500 requesting report" displayed.
Fixed compatibility issue with Advanced Roadmaps app, where the app’s "Team" field was selectable in reports but returned no values.
Fixed compatibility issue with ScriptRunner app, where scripted custom fields configured with a Search Template of “Free Text Searcher (Stattable)” displayed “None” or zero for all report values.
Fixed compatibility issue with Jira Misc Custom Fields (JMCF) app, where custom fields configured with any “Statistics-compatible” Search Template displayed “None” or zero for all report values.
Upgraded bundled library to enhance app security.
