FAQ on Linking Data Center to Linking Cloud migration

How do I migrate to Linking for Confluence Cloud?

Migrate your content with the Cloud Migration Assistant by Atlassian. All the app data will be migrated automatically.

Is there anything I need to know before doing the migration?

Understand the feature differences between data center and cloud, only some macros in Linking for Confluence Data Cernter are available in Cloud:

• Add Page and Add Page via Form macros are available in cloud

• Macros available in cloud have different parameter support. Refer to the specific macro reference page for more details.

What happens to the macros / parameters that are not available in cloud? Will my data be lost?

• While these macros / parameters do not have any output and the values are ignored in cloud, all data will be retained. Some of the macros will be coming to cloud in future releases.

• After the migration, all the unavailable macros in view page mode will be hidden to prevent you from getting the Unknown macro errors.

How do I access data from these legacy macros or specific macro parameters?

Legacy macros:

• You can access the data by accessing the page's storage format by choosing 

  
   >  View Storage Format . 

Legacy parameters:

• The data will be visible when in edit mode for now.

Do I have to do anything to make these data available once the macro feature has been made fully supported in Cloud in future?

These functions will automatically pick up the migrated data and work automatically.

Are there any special cases that I need to be aware of?

The Add Page and Add Page via Form macros may not be displayed the same way in coud as they were in data center. For example, if the macro is integrated with a third-party macro, you’ll still need to install that first.
