Use JQL functions outside of Extended Search

To use your query outside Extended Search screen, you need to save it as a Jira filter.

Instructions

In the Extended Search screen:

  1. Type your JQL query and press Search

  2. Click on Save the query as a filter

  3. Give the filter a name and confirm

  4. The filter is now available in Jira, and you can use it on boards, dashboard gadgets, Jira service desk, automation, etc.

  5. You can use the filter in JQL with the filter='You filter name' syntax

Make sure to read more about managing and sharing of filters: Extended Search Filters
