Page activity macro
Overview
The Page Activity Macro is used to display the activity report on a page. It's great for displaying recent activity in a page header or footer.
Permissions and report visibility
All users can see the report when the macro is added
On a page without a workflow, all the page activity is displayed, but all the state indicator circles are grey (confused or unconfirmed workflow state), as no workflow is applied
On a page with an unrestricted workflow (which does not define a
final=truestate), all the page activity is displayed
When a workflow includes a final state, the user’s Confluence permissions affect what is displayed in the rendered report.
When the macro is added on a page with an applied workflow with a state defined as the final state ( final=true state parameter)
Users with edit or admin permissions see the full report
View-only users only see entries up to the point at which the most recent published (
final=true) state was entered
If the page has not yet reached the final state, view-only users cannot view the page or the report.
Adding the report
To add the report to a page:
In the page editor
choose Insert → Other Macros → All → Page Activity or type /page …
Customise the report to your requirements
Choose Insert
Here's how the macro looks on your page:
Same-space publishing
If your workflow uses same-space publishing - the workflow has a state that is defined as the final state - the page activity report only lists entries up to and including the most recently published version of content.
Customising the report
You can customise the report with the following macro settings:
Setting | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Max Entries | All entries | The number of results to show |
Reverse order | No | Check the box to reverse the order of the report |
Other report page macros can be added to a page to report on workflow states, approvals, tasks, or document actions in a space or on selected pages.
