FAQ
Here are the answers to some of your most frequently asked questions. If you think we're missing any critical tips, contact us through the Appfire Support Portal.
Where is the EULA?
Please refer to the EULA provided by Appfire.
Can I get a demo for my team?
Of course! You can request a free demo through our support portal.
Does AIP for Jira Cloud have a free trial?
Yes, you can use AIP for Jira Cloud free of charge for 30 days. Check out our Atlassian Marketplace listing to get started.
Can I extend my free trial?
For cloud apps, you cannot extend your free evaluation period. All cloud apps are immediately subscribed to by the user, and we provide a free evaluation period. This is a minimum of 30 days and ends on the second billing cycle after you first subscribe to the app.
I found a security issue. What should I do?
Please submit a ticket through our customer portal.
Jira has the Assets built in. Why do I need a different tool?
AIP has features unavailable in Jira’s Assets, such as built-in global asset attributes so teams can start tracking assets from day one. While Jira’s Assets tool is native to Jira Service Management for Cloud Premium, AIP is available on JSM and Jira Software for cross-team collaboration on ITSM workflows, change management, and incident management.
What is the price for the plugin? Can I pay only for users that use Assets and Inventory Plugin for Jira Cloud?
You can check the price here.
According to Atlassian's pricing policy, apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. Jira Cloud apps are priced based on the maximum number of users of the Jira products on your instance. For example, if you have Jira Software (50 users) and Jira Service Management (10 agents) in the same instance, you pay the 50-user price for apps.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, within 30 days. You can get in touch with our support team to file a request.
Can the AIP custom field be added to Jira Service Portal forms for customer input?
Yes, it is possible. First, the appropriate custom field must be defined in Jira. Once created, it can be added to the customer portal for the relevant JSM project. For more detailed guidance, refer to the product documentation.
If a company already has existing QR codes on devices, do they need to reprint new ones using your system? What are the best practices for handling pre-labeled assets?
No, reprinting is not required. Customers can use their existing QR codes, typically generated using identifiers such as Asset ID, Name, or Asset URL.
The best practice is to export these identifiers and import them into AIP using the Asset Tag field. After importing:
Open the AIP Navigator (the home screen).
Use the Asset Tag field to search.
While the screen is open, scan the QR/barcode. The code content will auto-populate the field, enabling an immediate search.
Alternatively, users can manually enter the QR code content into the search field after scanning.
Can users implement cascading asset selection in the custom field (for example, filter by office, assignee, or location)?
This feature is currently available only on the Data Center (DC) version of AIP. Starting October 1, we will accelerate the development of our Cloud version. If all goes as planned, we anticipate releasing cascading asset selection for AIP Cloud in Q1 2026.
Is AIP compatible with Atlassian mobile apps?
No, AIP is not currently compatible with Atlassian mobile apps. We’ve added this feature request to our roadmap, but due to current priorities, it has been assigned a low priority.
Does AIP offer Discovery capabilities to automatically detect assets?
AIP Cloud currently does not offer any built-in Discovery features. However, this is a high-priority item on our roadmap. Like cascading selection, we aim to deliver Discovery capabilities in Q1 2026, contingent upon resource availability.
Does the import tool update existing assets or create new ones?
Both. By default, the import process updates existing assets if they are already present in your environment. If you’d like to create new assets instead, include a column named asset.key in your CSV file and leave it empty for those new rows. This way, the system generates new assets without overwriting existing ones.
Does AIP support custom domains or site renames?
Yes. AIP is fully compatible with Atlassian’s Cloud Site Rename feature. Renaming your site can help you strengthen your brand identity by using a domain that reflects your organization and simplify navigation by making it easier for teams to identify the right site.
You can safely rename your Atlassian Cloud site (for example, from companyname.atlassian.net to yourbrand.atlassian.net) without affecting the app functionality.
Your assets, configurations, and data will remain intact, and the app will continue to work seamlessly after the change.
For more details on how Cloud Site Rename works, see Atlassian’s official documentation.
