OKR linked issues data sync (and auto-progress update)

The progress of OKRs is updated as follows:

  • Manual KR progress is updated manually by the user.

  • Auto-KR progress is updated automatically based on the status of the linked issues (work items), and the status of the work items that belong to the scope of the linked boxes.

  • Objective progress is updated automatically based on the KRs and sub-objectives that support them.

Auto-KRs rely on linked issues to stay updated. This means that any changes made to those issues in other modules need to be synchronized with the OKR module.

Task data sync with the OKR module

To see linked issues under their respective KRs, make sure:

  • Displaying connected issues in the OKR Overview option is enabled in Settings > General.

  • Show connected Jira issues option is checked in Overview > Layout > Display settings.

When you mark a work item as Done in the Scope, Gantt, Board, Resources, or Calendar modules, the linked issue in the OKR module automatically reflects this progress.

If you move an issue back to To Do, the OKR progress will decrease. Issues marked In Progress don't affect OKR progress, but their status will still be updated in the OKR module.

Consequently, when the task is marked as Done, the progress of the Key Result and parent Objective increases proportionally as per their contribution toward a Key Result and Objective, respectively.

Important: The linked issue status and progress usually update immediately upon switching back to the OKR module. However, it can take up to 20 minutes in some cases.

The following video provides an overview of the task data sync between the Gantt module and the OKR module.
