Step 3: Convert your Scaffolding Data Center macros to Scaffolding Cloud macros
Overview
After migrating the Scaffolding data using the Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant app, the pages in cloud still use the legacy editor and contain the Scaffolding Data Center macros.
To finalize the migration of your Scaffolding data, you must convert your Scaffolding Data Center macros to Scaffolding Cloud macros. Converting the Scaffolding macros also converts the pages to the new cloud editor.
Depending on the number of pages or spaces you are migrating, you can choose to convert your Scaffolding macros page by page or perform a bulk conversion of all Scaffolding macros in a space.
Prerequisites
Verify that:
The Scaffolding data migration from Step 2 is in complete status.
You and the Scaffolding for Confluence user have the Add page permission for the migrated spaces in Confluence Cloud.
Your browser and its apps allow third-party cookies.
Incognito mode and some adblockers disable third-party cookies.
View the migrated pages with Scaffolding data
Go to the space in Confluence Cloud with the migrated Scaffolding data.
Select Space Settings from the sidebar.
In the General card, click Convert Scaffolding Server Macro.
The Convert Scaffolding Server Macro tab lists all pages with Scaffolding macros. The Status column shows whether the Scaffolding macros on the corresponding page have been converted. Initially, the status of all pages is unconverted.
Option 1: Convert all Scaffolding on all pages in the space
On the Convert Scaffolding Server Macro tab, click Bulk convert.
Click Proceed and wait for the conversion process to complete.
To prevent interruption and potential data loss, do not close the current tab during the conversion.
The duration of the bulk conversion process depends on the number of pages.
When the conversion completes, click Confirm.
The Convert Scaffolding Server Macro tab refreshes the statuses of the pages.
If all pages are in converted status, the Bulk convert button changes to the grayed-out All contents converted button.
If a page is in failed status, you can rerun the bulk conversion. If the problem persists, go to the page and refer to the Errors/Issues - Individual pages section for the relevant solution.
Reverting a converted page to an unconverted one using page history does not update the page conversion status in the space migration tool table.
Option 2: Convert the Scaffolding macros on a page
Open the page with Scaffolding data in view mode and initiate the conversion process.
Convert a page with Scaffolding - Field Group macros
If the page contains Scaffolding - Field Group macros, the page displays a Convert Scaffolding macro button for each Scaffolding - Field Group macro.
To initiate the conversion process, click any Convert Scaffolding macro button.
When the conversion process completes:
All Scaffolding macros on the page are converted to Scaffolding - Field Group macros with the corresponding input fields.
The page is converted to the new editor.
Convert a page with a Scaffolding - Live Template macro
If the page contains a Scaffolding - Live Template macro, the page displays the Conversion needed message.
To initiate the conversion process, click Convert this live template macro only.
When the conversion process completes:
The Live Template macro on the page is converted to a Scaffolding - Live Template macro.
The page is converted to the new editor.
If the macro uses a template page that contains unconverted Scaffolding - Field Group macros, the macros on this page and its editor are also converted.
