Ignore target space changes
Overview
When the Ignore Target Changes setting is active, a change made on a published and synced target space page is ignored.
For example, when Ignore Target Changes is active, adding a label to a published and synced page in the target space does not change the publishing state from SYNCED to OUT OF SYNC
What this setting does
When the Ignore Target Changes setting is made active, on a published and synced page, the publishing status:
Remains SYNCED when a change is made on a page in the TARGET space
Changes to OUT OF SYNC when the change is made on a page in the SOURCE space
When active, all changes for a target space page are ignored:
Label change - label added or removed
Attachment change- attachment added or removed
Page updated
Page moved with a change of hierarchy
Page deleted
When the Ignore Target Changes setting is made inactive:
All changes in a published and synced page in either of the linked spaces (the SOURCE space or the TARGET space) change the publishing status to OUT OF SYNC.
Making the setting inactive does not change the SYNCED status if changes were made on a target space page whilst the setting was active.
When would I use this?
After publishing and syncing a page (or space), this setting can be used to add labels or attachments that are specific to the pages in the target space without changing the publishing status.
You should use this setting with care. When it is active, and a target space page is edited and updated, the publishing state remains as SYNCED on the source and target space pages and in the publishing report.
Publishing and syncing a source space page removes any changes made on the target space page; for example, a label that has been added to the target space page is removed.
